Tenuta Matrico exclusively cultivates and presses its own olive groves, following every stage with care, respect, and devotion to nature’s rhythms. Our production is limited because quality, not quantity, is what matters most: a genuine, pure extra virgin olive oil with a flavor that truly enhances every dish.

The Caggese Family
The Story of Tenuta Matrico
For over a century, the Caggese family has preserved an essential tradition of Salento: extra virgin olive oil. It is a story that began in the late 19th century when grandfather ("Nonnu") Totu planted the Tenuta Matrico olive grove, which was later passed down to his son Carmelo, and today is cared for by his grandson Giovanni. It is a story of passion, care, and dedication to olive farming. A story of resilience that speaks of the Caggese family's determination: following the devastation caused by Xylella, they chose not to give up on their dream, replanting new resistant olive varieties to continue bringing to your table an oil that embodies the true strength of Salento—a land that always knows how to rise again.
